![]() ![]() I think this book is very entertaining and a great read. His sister Elizabeth was completely invisible. ![]() In his life, he had moved many times and this time he hoped the family would stay put. In the book My Invisible Sister by Beatrice Colin and Sarah Pinto, 10 year old Frank Black (the narrator) moved with his family to Morningvale Circle. It's not my favorite, but it's certainly not the worst I've read. I would have liked to hear more from Elizabeth- she seemed a very one-dimensional character with not a lot of development.Īll in all, though, I thought it was a pretty cute book that I think kids could enjoy. The medical condition she has is never explained- which is suitable for a children's book, I suppose. There is some other adult-type humor (cultural references and such) in the book that children will probably not be able to get.įrank is a likable character, though he is perhaps too unfeeling toward his sister's "condition". There were references to alcohol and adults being intoxicated on multiple occasions, and used the word "sexy" to describe the father (in the words of the mother). This book was pretty well written- quick and concise. When Frank finally enjoys a town his family settles down in, can he convince his sister to quit her mischievous ways? This makes life pretty difficult for Frank, whose family often moves because of the trouble his sister Elizabeth causes. Frank is a normal kid with a normal family and a normal dog named Bob- he even has a pretty normal sister who likes boy bands and hates school. ![]()
